Three from baseball recognized by CSC as Academic All-District
GREENWOOD, Ind. -- Five Bellevue University baseball student-athletes were honored by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) when the CSC announced their Academic All-District® award winners on Tuesday.
Senior first baseman Steven Elsner (San Francisco, Calif.), senior pitcher Parker McMan (Bozeman, Mont.), and junior pitcher Kenji Miller (Shoreline, Wash.) each earned the distinction of being selected to the CSC's 2025 NAIA Academic All-District Baseball team.
All three were previously announced as first team all-conference selections by the North Star Athletic Association and all three each earned Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete recognition.
Elsner led the team in numerous offensive categories, including: batting average (.386), on-base percentage (.472), slugging percentage (.838), OPS (1.310), hits (76), runs (70), doubles (18), home runs (23), and RBI (65). His single-season home run total ranked second in the BU record book and his slugging percentage was good for fourth. Additionally, his 42 extra-base hits and his OPS were good for seventh on the single season charts, and his runs scored were good for ninth.
McMan pitched to a 6-2 record and 2.29 ERA as he led the team with 14 starts. His 2.29 ERA, 83 strikeouts, 86.1 innings, and four complete games each led the team. He posted a 1.23 WHIP, 8.65 K/9, a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 4.61, and fired a complete game shutout against MidAmerica Nazarene. He leaves BU ranked No. 6 all-time in fewest walks issued per nine innings (2.20), No. 9 in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.74), and No. 13 in appearances (42).
Miller began the year in the bullpen before moving into the starting rotation where we went 9-0 on the hill, pitching to a 3.33 ERA and striking out 73 batters in 67.2 innings of work. He led the team in winks and complete games (4), ranked second in strikeouts and WHIP (1.14) and was third on the club in innings pitched and ERA. He led all starters with 9.71 K/9 and racked up a team-best three double-digit strikeout games, including a career-high 13 against Siena Heights, while posting a 4.87 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Wednesday, July 1. The CSC Academic All-District teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
Bellevue finished the 2025 season with a 40-15 overall record, going 19-1 in NSAA play to capture both the regular season and tournament titles for the third-straight season. The Bruins, made their 27th appearance in the NAIA National Tournament when they played in the Opening Round – Upland Bracket.
