Ackerman collects NSAA weekly honors
Alec Ackerman was named NSAA Player of the Week following a two-home run game in 3-5 performance against St. Thomas on Saturday.
BISMARCK, N.D. -- Bellevue University senior Alec Ackerman (Parker, Colo.) has been selected as the North Star Athletic Association's Baseball Player of the Week, as announced by the NSAA office on Monday.
The Bruin first baseman went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and three RBI in Bellevue's 10-5 win over (RV) St. Thomas University on Saturday, BU's lone game of the week.
Ackerman homered in the home half of the first to give BU a 2-1 lead after the Bobcats delivered a solo shot in the top half of the first. After a two-run inning by STU in the eight, Ackerman answered with a solo shot leading off the bottom of the inning to put BU back in front by five. He added a single in a three-run sixth for the Bruins.
On the year, Ackerman is now hitting .385 with an 1.170 OPS, three home runs, 11 RBI, and three stolen bases.
The seventh-ranked Bruins (7-7) play a double-header with St. Thomas on Monday to wrap up a three-game set.
