Thompson earns second-straight MCAC Player of the Week honor
POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- For the second-straight week and third time this season, senior first baseman Brandon Thompson was named this week's Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference's Player of the Week.
Thompson batted .476 (10-for-21) with four runs scored, three doubles, three home runs and 10 RBIs. He also posted a 1.048 slugging percentage and a .560 on-base percentage.
In the Bruins' doubleheader sweep at Central Christian College on April 27, Thompson went 5-for-7 with two home runs and six RBIs.
For the season, he is hitting .388 and leads the team in home runs (14), RBIs (56), slugging percentage (.713) and on-base percentage (.462).
Bellevue is currently 37-17 on the season and won the MCAC regular season title with a 17-3 mark. The Bruins will host the four-team conference tournament on Wednesday-Friday, May 2-4 at Westgate Field.
