Bazant named MCAC Baseball Player of the Week

POINT LOOKOUT, Mo. -- Senior outfielder Anthony Bazant has been named the MCAC Baseball Player of the Week for the week ending on April 17 after batting .588 (10-for-17) with three home runs, eight runs scored, one double, six stolen bases and eight RBIs helping the Bruins win three conference games last week.
In the Bruins' only loss last week versus the University of Sioux Falls on April 13, Bazant went 3-for-5 with three runs and stole four bases. The LaVista, Neb., native followed that up by batting .583 (7-for-12) at Central Christian College on April 16. Bazant hit all three of his home runs, scored five runs, stole two bases and drove in eights runs in the conference tripleheader.
For the season, Bazant leads the team in batting, hitting .402 with nine doubles, two triples, four home runs and 33 RBIs. He is also 20-for-24 in stolen base attempts this season.
Bellevue is 20-17 overall this season and is in first place in the MCAC with a 10-3 league mark. The Bruins will return to action this week when they travel to Fremont, Neb., to play Midland University in a nine inning non-conference game on Wednesday, April 20 at 6:00 p.m.
