Bruins, Gomez finish third at DWU Invite
MITCHELL, S.D. -- Freshman Ana Laura Gomez finished third individually to lead the Bellevue University women's golf team to a third place finish at the Dakota Wesleyan University Invite Saturday at the Wild Oak Golf Course.
Gomez shot 86 on the day for a two day total of 164. Christina VonRiesen finished fifth with a 172 total (86-86). Gomez and VonRiesen were both named to the all-tournament team.
The host school Dakota Wesleyan won the tournament with a two-day total of 677, 10 shots better than second-place Morningside (687) and 16 better than Bellevue's 693.

Taylor Byers 88-91 (179) - 18th
Dawn Florance 87-94 (181) - T19th
Bellevue had the second lowest team total (355) on the day under extremely windy conditions.
DWU's Danielle Bellet was the tournament medalist, finishing with a four-over par total of 148 (70-78).
The Bruins will be idle until Oct. 10-11 when they travel to Parkville, Mo. for the Park University Classic.
