Bruin head volleyball coach Trish Siedlik announced today the signing of junior college transfer Fabiola Aviles to a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Bellevue University beginning in the fall of 2017.
Aviles, a native of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, played two seasons at Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kan. A defensive specialist, Aviles led the Red Ravens in digs per set with 5.51 while amassing 540 total digs on the season. She also recorded 32 assists and 12 service aces on the season. She recorded 20-or-more digs in 14 matches during the 2016 campaign.
"We are so fortunate to have Fabi join our program," said Siedlik. "She is such a focused young lady that will fit in nicely with our chemistry. She is a strong student that will add to our high team GPA. I can't wait to work with her on the court!"
Aviles earned all-conference honors in 2016 and was named captain during her sophomore season under head coach Delice Downing.
An excellent student, Aviles earned academic all-conference honors during her career at Coffeyville CC.
