BELLEVUE, Neb. -- Bellevue University cross country coach Craig Christians announced today a pair of signees to join the Bruin men's cross country program in its inaugural season in 2018. Signing letters of intent were Charlie Null and Cole Wagner, both of Plattsmouth High School.

Cole Wagner:

Wagner, the son of Kevin and Barb, intends to major in Computer System Services at Bellevue. He ran in high school for Coach Todd Nott at Plattsmouth and posted a career-best 5K time of 16:26 at the Nike Cross Regional.

Wagner is a four-time Class B State Meet Qualifier and was the ninth place finisher in 2015. He also ran both the 1600m and 3200m in track in high school with career-best times of 4:44 and 10:07, respectively.

Coach Christians on Cole Wagner:

"Cole has consistently been one of the top performers among Class B distance runners in Nebraska for the past several years. He is a guy who doesn't have a lot to say but just comes ready to go to work every day."

Charlie Null:

Null, the son of Randy and Julie, intents to major in Psychology at Bellevue. He ran in high school for Coach Todd Nott at Plattsmouth where he recorded a career-best 5K time of 17:42.

This past fall he split time between the Varsity and JV teams at Plattsmouth, running five varsity events and placing a career-best sixth in the Eastern Midlands Conference JV Race.

Coach Christians on Charlie Null:

"Charlie is a guy who is fairly new to the sport and I see a lot of potential in him. He has the desire and heart to put in the work and I am excited to see what he can become."

Null and Wagner join earlier signees Tony Chol (Omaha, Neb./Boys Town HS) and Jason Landin (Laredo, Texas/Boys Town HS) in the Bruins' inaugural signing class.
