BELLEVUE, Neb. – Bellevue University head baseball coach Mike Evans announced today the signing of pitcher/catcher Andrew Robbins (Omaha, Neb./Millard West HS) to a letter of intent to play baseball and continue his education at Bellevue beginning this fall.
The 6-3, 205-pound Robbins was a four-sport standout at Millard West, excelling in baseball, football, basketball and track. He earned Millard West’s Ironcat Award for participating in 11 of 12 sports seasons during his four-year career at Millard West.
Robbins helped pace the Wildcats to a second-place finish at the Nebraska State Baseball Tournament in 2008.
A two-year starter at tight end, Robbins helped lead the Wildcats to the 2008 Nebraska state football title in Class A as Millard West finished with an undefeated 13-0 record.
Robbins tied the school record in the high jump with a leap of 6-7, finishing third in the 2009 Nebraska state championships, while helping his squad to a second-place showing in the Class A team standings. He also captured the 2009 district title in the high jump and placed third in the long jump.
Robbins was also a member of the Wildcats' varsity basketball team for three years.
He is the son of Les and Melanie Robbins.
The 2009 Bruins finished the season with a 41-12 overall record, capturing both the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles, while advancing to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
